China Opera Academy is the first opera school established in New China. It is also the only independent university in China that trains senior professionals in traditional Chinese opera. It is also the highest institution of opera education in China.

Subject and major setting:

At present, the college has three first-level master's programs in drama and film studies, music and dance studies and art theory, with 15 major and 28 undergraduate majors.

Among them, drama and opera are key disciplines in Beijing, performance (Peking Opera), drama, film and television literature, drama and film and television art design are national characteristics and first-class construction majors, composition and composition technology theory (opera composition) and animation are provincial and ministerial-level construction majors, and performance (Peking Opera instrumental music) is provincial and ministerial-level characteristic majors.
