Gu, male, born in June 1940, president of Southeast University, academician of China Academy of Engineering, professor, doctoral supervisor, famous computer scientist in China, and representative of the 10th National People's Congress. He is currently a member of the National Informationization Expert Advisory Committee, a member of the National Key Basic Research Program (973) Advisory Expert Group, Vice Chairman internet society of china, a member of the National Next Generation Internet Expert Committee, a deputy director of the Network and Data Communication Committee of the China Computer Federation, a member of the Information Department of the Science and Technology Committee of the State Education Commission, and a vice chairman of the Jiangsu Science and Technology Association.
1965, as a major member, Academician Gu successfully developed the first transistor integrator in China, and 1980 compiled the first computer network textbook in China. 1988 took the lead in developing X.25 communication controller in China, which broke the situation of foreign monopoly and dependence on imports. He presided over the development of the first OSI network and EDI system in China, and made profound research and outstanding contributions in computer systems, networks, CIMS and other fields. Its research achievements won 2 National Science Conference Awards, 4 National Science and Technology Progress Awards and 10 Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards.
