The historical origin of Phoenix Media College can be traced back to the specialized course of audio-visual education established by Jiangsu Institute of Education in 1929, and the journalism department under the National Institute of Social Education in194/0. It has been 80 years now. After the adjustment of departments, the two universities finally merged into Suzhou University. 1995 The Department of Journalism and Communication, established by Suzhou University, was developed and reorganized into the College of Literature and Journalism and Communication in 2005. Founded in 2009, Phoenix Media College is located in Dushu Lake Campus of Soochow University. The School of Journalism and Communication, the predecessor of Phoenix Media College, used to have a large number of famous academic masters teaching here, including famous thinkers and educators Zhang Taiyan, Wu Mei, Zhu Dongrun, Xu Guozhang and others. Fang Hanqi, a famous contemporary journalist, also studied here.
