Tarim University, referred to as "Ta Da" for short, was founded in June 1958, when it was named "Tarim River Agricultural University". 1960, with the support of Wang Zhen, then Minister of State Land Reclamation, the school was expanded and renamed "Tarim Agricultural University", with Wang Zhen as honorary president. ?
