The development of history
1948 The Jilin Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China discussed and agreed to establish a university for nationalities in Yanbian, tentatively named "Northeast Korean People's University", and reported it to the Northeast Bureau of the Communist Party of China for approval.
1February, 949, the Northeast Administrative Committee named the school "Yanji University" in its reply. The Preparatory Committee submitted a report to the Northeast Administrative Committee, suggesting that "Yanji University" be changed to "Yanbian University".
Enrollment began in March, and Yanbian Medical College was merged into Yanji University. On March 20th, the opening ceremony was held in Yanji Stalin Theatre. April 1 day is designated as the celebration day. In April, the Northeast Administrative Committee approved Yanji University to be renamed Yanbian University.
At the beginning of the school, the school had a literature department, a medical department and an agricultural college. Later, after the adjustment of departments, the original departments and agricultural colleges were developed into normal colleges, medical colleges and agricultural colleges.
