This major attaches great importance to the infiltration of discipline construction and the transformation of high-level scientific research achievements into undergraduate teaching, and constructs a set of practical teaching system for training system designers, which greatly promotes the cultivation of students' scientific research literacy and innovation ability. This major consists of motion control system and process control system, integrated automation system and embedded control system. In 2005, it was approved as a brand specialty in Jiangsu Province, and in 2007, it was approved as a national specialty construction site. Graduates have wide adaptability and good employment prospects.

This major mainly cultivates the comprehensive application ability of automatic control theory, computer, electronic and electrical components, computer network and information processing technology, and is engaged in the research, design, development, operation management and decision-making of integrated automatic measurement and control systems related to the field of electrical information, such as automation instruments and equipment, embedded computer control system, measurement and control application software, motion control system, process control system, traffic control and intelligent building.

Students in this major mainly study basic theories and knowledge such as electrical technology, electronic technology, control theory, information processing, automatic detection, computer technology and application, network technology, etc. They have received good engineering practice training and have the basic ability of system analysis, design, development and research.
