The Chinese University of Hong Kong was formed by the merger of New Asia College, Chung Chi College and United College on 1963. 1966, the first research institute in Hong Kong was established; 1976, the departments of different colleges are integrated and unified by universities; 1986, comprehensively review the curriculum structure, transfer to the credit system, and strengthen general education; 1998, the admission rate of mainland undergraduates ranks first in Hong Kong; 20 14, Zhong Da University (Shenzhen University) was established.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong is the only university in Hong Kong with Nobel Prize winners, Fields Prize winners and Turing Prize winners. Many China scholars and researchers have won numerous awards, and countless others have won famous awards. By the end of 20 19 and 12, the school had 8 full-time faculty members, including 380 professors, 296 associate professors, 368 assistant professors, 657 lecturers and 65,438 researchers.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong has established close partnership with many universities, research institutions, learning centers, government departments, regional and international organizations around the world, and established more than 420 research cooperation, scholars and teacher-student exchange programs with more than 260 overseas universities.
