The Department of Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology of Yale University mainly studies cell neurobiology, cytoskeleton and cell morphogenesis, developmental cytology, genetics, membrane proteins, molecular and chemical biology, nucleic acids and plant biology.
?
Applicants should have a solid foundation in basic science (biology, chemistry and mathematics). All applicants need to take the GRE exam. If they apply for the fields of neuroscience, immunology, computational biology and bioinformatics, they can use MCAT scores instead of GRE scores. It is recommended to submit GRE scores in cell and molecular biology, biology, biochemistry or chemistry. Higher GPA and GRE scores are helpful to the application, but they cannot guarantee admission. However, a GPA lower than 3.0 and a GRE score lower than 500(V)/500(Q)/3.0(W) have adverse effects on admission.
