As one of the eight key disciplines of Fuzhou University's 2 1 1 project, the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Fuzhou University has undertaken more than 200 scientific research projects in recent years, including 9 national projects and 10 1 provincial projects, of which 2 1 achievements have won national and provincial awards. Principles of Metal Heat Treatment and Fundamentals of Materials Science were approved as provincial excellent key courses and included in the first batch of 100 courses in our school.

At present, the college has a provincial key laboratory, namely, Metal Materials Laboratory, 2 specialized laboratories 12, 4 production experimental workshops, and more than 300 sets of * * * equipment, with a value of more than RMB 10, with a laboratory area exceeding 1000 square meters.

The College has established many R&D institutions, such as China Mechanical Engineering Society Failure Analysis Network, Fujian Heat Treatment Testing Center, Fuzhou University Materials Research Institute, Inorganic Non-metallic Materials Research Institute and Fuzhou University Jewelry Appraisal Research Center. It is the director of the first-level societies such as China Materials Research Society and China Mechanical Engineering Society, and the director of the second-level societies such as Materials Society, Physical and Chemical Inspection Society, Heat Treatment Society, Failure Analysis Society, China Stereology Society, and China Materials Research Society Youth Working Committee. He is the vice chairman and executive director of Fujian Mechanical Engineering Society, Metal Society and Nonferrous Metals Society. It belongs to Fujian Heat Treatment Society, Metal Society, Materials Society and Electron Microscope Society.
