Shanxi Medical University, located in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province, is a medical university with coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It has a multi-level talent training system focusing on undergraduate and postgraduate medical higher education, the pilot universities of "Excellent Doctor Education Training Program", the first members of the Sino-Russian Medical University Alliance, the national high-level postgraduate training program universities, the national "key discipline project" and the national "Hundred Schools Project" pilot.

Shanxi Medical University has two campuses, Zhongdu Campus and Yingze Campus, including Basic Medical College, Public Health College, Pharmacy College, Forensic Medicine College, Nursing College, Humanities and Social Sciences College, Management College, Stomatology College, Marxism College and Anesthesia College.
