Vigorously strengthen discipline construction
Concentrate resources, give full play to advantages, and declare new doctoral and master programs. Under the unified organization of the college, in recent years, our college has added 2 doctoral programs, 3 master programs and 3 master programs in engineering. And selected a group of doctoral tutors and master tutors with reasonable age structure and high academic level.
Do a good job in the construction of teaching staff. On the one hand, using the brand effect and scientific research environment of Sun Yat-sen University, we have made great efforts to introduce talents and achieved remarkable results. Since 2000, our college has introduced 88 talents of all kinds, including 16 according to the plan of 100 talents, including American experts Professor Zhou Yuanping, Professor distinguished professor Huang, Professor Su, Professor Chang Youyou, Professor Yang Zhi, Professor Dai, Professor Tan Hongzhou, Professor Ma Xiao, Professor Lin Xiaola and other young scholars who have made great achievements at home and abroad.
On the other hand, young teachers are encouraged to pursue doctoral degrees, creating opportunities for them to visit and study, tapping their potential and strengthening their training. At present, seven in-service teachers in our college have obtained doctoral degrees, and 15 young teachers are studying for doctoral degrees.
In addition, the college has also hired well-known domestic scholars such as academicians of communication technology experts, computer graphics experts, professors Wang, Qi, and information security experts to work part-time in the college to gather the strength of disciplines and promote the formation of scientific research teams.
This series of measures has strengthened the construction of teachers in our college, and gradually formed an academic team with reasonable structure, stability and strong scientific research ability, and the discipline development is full of stamina. At present, our college has 56 teachers with doctoral degree or above, of whom 6 have been selected into the "Thousand Talents Program" at or above the school level.
Carry out extensive academic exchange activities
Our college attaches great importance to academic exchange activities, and all units hold high-level academic lectures regularly or irregularly. Recently, the "Lecture on Communication Technology in the New Century" held by our institute was lectured by many academicians, which reflected the latest development trend of communication technology at home and abroad and received extensive attention and support from domestic telecom enterprises.
The college also hired a number of information technology experts from well-known enterprises at home and abroad such as computers and electronic communications as part-time professors to promote school-enterprise exchanges and inter-school exchanges. Moreover, our college has established academic cooperation relations with many foreign universities, such as University of London, University of Paris I, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Tsukuba and University of Sydney, Australia.
