Universities for nationalities are comprehensive universities set up by the party and the state to solve ethnic problems in China. Minzu University of China (hereinafter referred to as "Minzu University of China") is located in Haidian District, Beijing, adjacent to the National Library in the south and Zhongguancun Science Park in the north. It was jointly built by Beijing, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the people of China and the Ministry of Education.
The school was approved by 1978 as a national key university, ranking among the first-class universities in China (Class A), 21/project and 985 project. It is also one of the national excellent legal talents education and training plan, the demonstration base for studying in China by the Ministry of Education, the national postgraduate program for building a high-level university, and the scholarship receiving institutions of the China Municipal Government.
The predecessor of Minzu University of China is the Institute for Nationalities founded by China Producers' Party in Yan 'an in September 194 1. 1951June, the Central University for Nationalities was formally established in Beijing, with Ulanhu as the first president. 1993165438+1October, renamed Central University for Nationalities. 1999 became the national key construction university of "21/project" and became the national key construction university of "985 project" in 2004.
As of June, 20 18 and 10, the school covers an area of 380,000 square meters, the planned new campus covers an area of 8 1 10,000 square meters, the campus building area is 592,000 square meters, the teaching and administrative rooms are more than 200,000 square meters, and the total assets are 3.4 billion yuan.
