Yanshan University is a national key university jointly established by Hebei Provincial People's Government, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. He is a member of Beijing Hi-Tech University Alliance and a "double-class" construction university in Hebei Province. Two scientific research achievements, 20 13 and 20 14, were selected as "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Progress in China" and "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Progress in Colleges and Universities in China".

The campus of Yanshan University is divided into East and West by Jingshan Railway and National Highway 205, and the Hong Yan Bridge will be erected in the middle to connect the two campuses. The pagoda on the commanding heights of the west campus and the Century Building in the east campus are integrated with the Hong Yan Bridge, which is a unique landmark building of Yanda University.

Qinhuangdao is located on the coast of Bohai Sea, facing the sea, symbolizing that Yan college students are wandering in the ocean of knowledge and dare to explore truth and unknown scientific spirit; Blue is the main color of the logo of Yanshan University, representing a future as broad as rationality, wisdom and the sky, and a broad mind as the sea.
