As a student at school, I think the most distinctive major of Tarim University is the ethnic news communication major jointly set up by the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Central University for Nationalities. This major focuses on cultivating students' intercultural communication ability, and requires students to master many minority languages, Chinese and basic media skills. On this basis, it is necessary to deeply understand the history, culture and customs of all ethnic groups, fully understand China's ethnic policies, get in touch with people of all ethnic groups extensively and closely, be good at discovering and disseminating the cultural characteristics and traditional excellent works of ethnic minorities, and carry forward the national spirit. Through hard study and exploration, learn to describe, tell and summarize the Chinese dream of ethnic minorities in various fields with vivid language, clear pictures and audio-visual materials.

As far as I know, this major enjoys a high reputation in China. At present, it is the only major focusing on minority news communication in China, and it is also one of the most popular majors in our school's current enrollment plan.

Moreover, as a student, I deeply feel that the training mode of this major is very practical, focusing on cultivating actual combat ability and innovative thinking. We have the opportunity to interview and practice in many minority areas, which not only exercises our skills, but also enhances our sense of social responsibility and feelings of home and country. In short, as a student majoring in ethnic journalism and communication in Tarim University, I feel very proud, and I believe I will gain more knowledge and life experience here.
