Yangzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College is located in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, a historical and cultural city that won the "United Nations Best Living Environment Award", and is located in the Yangtze River Tianjin Science and Education Park in Southwest University Town. Established by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Yangzhou Municipal People's Government.

Approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government in July, 2004, the school was formed by the merger of Yangzhou Chemical Engineering School and Yangzhou Architectural Engineering School. The former Yangzhou Chemical School was founded in 1978, which belongs to Jiangsu Petrochemical Department. The former Yangzhou Architectural Engineering School was founded in 198 1, which belongs to China National Nuclear Corporation. On 1999, the two schools were placed under the direct control of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. The school is the largest engineering vocational college in Central Jiangsu and the only provincial demonstration vocational college construction unit in Yangzhou.
