Guizhou University, referred to as "Da Gui", is located in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou. It is a national "double-first-class" world-class discipline construction university, a "21project" key construction university, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government, a scholarship institution for overseas students of China Government, a scholarship institution for Confucius Institute, and a collaborative innovation center of "201plan" of the Ministry of Education. The pilot unit of "Three-Round Education" comprehensive reform of the Ministry of Education, a key comprehensive university in Guizhou Province, a member of the Central and Western University Alliance, a national college students' cultural quality education base, a demonstration base for studying in China by the Ministry of Education, a foreign aid base of the Ministry of Education, and an international scientific and technological cooperation base of the Ministry of Science and Technology. It has been selected into the national'11/plan', excellent legal talents education and training plan, excellent agricultural and forestry talents education and training plan, excellent engineer education and training plan, and the Ministry of Education's' comprehensive strength improvement project for central and western universities', and has become one of the key 14 high-level universities built by the Ministry of Education in the western region, with counterpart support from Zhejiang University.

Guizhou University was founded in 1902, and was named Guizhou University in 1950 and 10 after the period of Guizhou University Hall, provincial Guizhou University, national Guizhou College of Agriculture and Industry and national Guizhou University. 195 1 year 1 1 month, the name of Guizhou university was written by the chairman. 1August 1997, merged with Guizhou Agricultural College and other institutions. In August 2004, it merged with Guizhou University of Technology.
