Introduction of Xinjiang Agricultural University
Xinjiang Agricultural University is located at the foot of Yamarik Mountain in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on the site of Gongning ancient city. It is a key university with agricultural science as its advantage and characteristic.
The school, formerly known as Bayi Agricultural Reclamation College, belongs to Xinjiang Military Region. It is the first undergraduate college established in Xinjiang after the founding of New China. 1958 was placed under the people's government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and renamed as Xinjiang Bayi Agricultural Reclamation College. 1995 was renamed Xinjiang Agricultural University with the approval of the State Education Commission. 20 14 was built by the people's government of the autonomous region and the former state forestry administration.
The school has four campuses including Laomancheng, Yaxin, Lugang and Tiangeer, seven school-run practice bases including Xiejiagou Grassland Experimental Station and Hutubi Ranch Experimental Demonstration Station, and 329 off-campus teaching practice bases. Among them, Laomancheng Campus (headquarters) covers an area of about 1500 mu, Yaxin Campus covers an area of about 500 mu, Lugang Campus covers an area of about 4,000 mu, and Tiangeer Campus (internship forest farm) covers an area of about 1500 mu.
