The University of Southern California (USC) is a private research university located in Los Angeles. Founded by the Board of Supervisors on 1880, it is a member of association of american universities and Pacific Rim University Alliance. The official mascot is "Traveler".

The University of Southern California ranked 25th among the best universities in the United States in 2023. There are 10 Nobel Prize winners among alumni and faculty. Six MacArthur Prize winners and 1 Turing Prize winners.

USC Southern University, founded in 1880, is a Methodist university. This campus was donated by three wealthy Los Angeles residents. At the beginning of the university, * * * enrolled 53 students and 0 faculty members/kloc-0. There are three first-time graduates-two men and one woman. Decades later, Southern California ceased to have religious beliefs and officially became independent from the Methodist Church.

Since its establishment, the University of Southern California has been growing. In addition to the main campus located 2 miles south of downtown Los Angeles ("University Park Campus"), the school has also set up a health science campus 2 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, and established business schools, pharmacy schools, social work schools and education schools. There are also the Institute of Information Science in Arlington County, Virginia and Marina Delry, and the School of Public Administration is located in the satellite campus of Sacramento, California.
