2. Universities officially appeared in the Western Zhou Dynasty. At that time, the school was divided into universities and primary schools, collectively referred to as "Chinese studies." The content of university education is mainly etiquette, music, shooting and royalty. Later, the universities established by each emperor were collectively called "Chinese studies", and the universities established by governors were called "Pangong". During the Western Zhou Dynasty, there was also an educational institution called Imperial College, which was the highest institution in China and the place where emperors studied.
3. In order to educate future generations, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty formally established Taixue, the first central university in China, on 124, with 50 disciples, mainly teaching Confucian classics. By the Eastern Han Dynasty, there were more than 30,000 Thai students at most.
4. In the first year of Guanghe (178), Emperor Ling of the Eastern Han Dynasty founded the earliest university of literature and art in China, specializing in Ci, Fu, calligraphy and painting. Students are sent by the state and county governments, with a maximum of more than 1000 people. Most of these students were awarded senior positions after graduation.
5. The educational system in the Tang Dynasty was quite complete, and the educational contents of the central official school, namely the university students, were increasing day by day, such as calligraphy, mathematics, law and medicine.
6. During the Song Dynasty, martial arts and painting were added to universities.
7. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, in order to carry out foreign economic and cultural exchanges, the first foreign language university in China, the Foreign Language Museum, was opened in imperial academy, the Forbidden City.
8. 1898, the Qing government established Shi Jing University Hall for "cultivating talents" and "paying attention to current affairs".
