College is one of the cradles of agricultural engineering in China, which was developed by the merger of the former Central University and Jinling University, two earliest agricultural engineering departments in China. 1952 when the departments of colleges and universities in China were adjusted, the department of agricultural mechanization of Nanjing Agricultural College merged. In the same year, Pukou Campus established East China Mechanized Agricultural School (1955 was renamed Nanjing Agricultural Mechanized School). 65438-0958, the Department of Agricultural Mechanization merged with Nanjing Agricultural Mechanization School in Jiangsu Province to form the Agricultural Mechanization Branch of Nanjing Agricultural College. 1970, moved to Zhenjiang and merged with Zhenjiang Agricultural Machinery College (now Jiangsu University). 1985, moved back to the original site of Puzhen to establish the Agricultural Engineering College. In 2000, it was renamed Institute of Technology.
