Guangdong Law and Politics School, founded in 1905, is one of the earliest new legal and political education institutions in old China. 19 12 The school was renamed Guangdong University of Political Science and Law, and 1923 was renamed Guangdong University of Political Science and Law. 1924, Dr. Sun Yat-sen founded the National Guangdong University, later Sun Yat-sen University, on the basis of Guangdong University of Public Law, National Teachers College and Guangdong Agricultural College. Guangdong University of Public Law later became the law school of the National Guangdong University and developed into this college in 193 1. 1952 The national colleges and departments were greatly adjusted, and the School and Law Department of Sun Yat-sen University were abolished. 65438-0979, Sun Yat-sen University reopened its Law Department, with Zheng Duanmu, former vice president of the Supreme People's Court and arbitrator of The Hague Permanent Court of Arbitration, as its first president. 1993 the school of law, the department of political science and administration, and the institute of sociology and population established the school of law and politics of sun yat-sen university. In September, 20001year, Sun Yat-sen University abolished the Faculty of Law and Politics and rebuilt it on the basis of the original Faculty of Law.

Since 1998, the college has enrolled students at the undergraduate level according to the major of law. In 2004, this major was selected as a famous brand major in Guangdong Province. At present, the college has a first-class discipline with the right to confer doctoral degrees and a first-class discipline with the right to confer master's degrees. Legal theory and procedural law are key disciplines in Guangdong province, and criminal law course is an excellent course in Guangdong province.
