As a college student who is looking for a job, the author deeply feels that the employment difficulties of college students are inseparable from the university education in China. I think it is an unshirkable responsibility for universities to train students. Mr. Ding Xueliang of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology once said: "The problems of universities cannot be solved in seven days and seven nights." Liu Daoyu, former president of Wuhan University, once wrote that, in my opinion, the problems of China University can be summed up in one word, and that is "chaos". One sentence tells the current situation of higher education in China for the first time. First, the blind merger of universities has a strong impetuous atmosphere. Since the merger of colleges and universities in the early 1990s, higher education in China has begun. A large number of universities merged, and some junior colleges and technical secondary schools were merged by some 985 or 2 1 1 universities, and these schools issued diplomas. There is a serious idea of the Great Leap Forward in universities. A few years to catch up with the Premier League, the slogan of building a first-class university and a large number of enclosures. For example, Jilin University has merged many schools to become the largest university in China, covering almost half of Changchun, while Central South University in Hunan has almost guarded four gates in Changsha. Such blind construction and repeated construction not only lead to a serious decline in teaching quality, but also produce many low-quality college students, which leads to the overall employment difficulties of college students and a serious waste of national resources. Second, the university is over-industrialized, unilaterally pursuing economic profits and giving up the purpose of cultivating students. At present, many universities are similar to enterprises, pursuing maximum profits without considering the interests of students and society. By holding a large number of secondary colleges or independent colleges, the brand of the university itself is sold in exchange for "dividing the spoils". As of May 2008, there are 326 independent colleges in 30 provinces. Some universities wholesale diplomas by holding adult education and self-study exams. Learning means paying tuition, leaving school and issuing diplomas. Self-study exams, especially short-term exams organized by Hunan and other provinces, are more important for teachers who sell questions. It is common to reveal questions before the exam, and fraud such as asking someone to take the exam for you is very serious. Some people even say that the self-study exam is "a smuggling channel leading to college and undergraduate diplomas." It has seriously tarnished the reputation of the university and violated the original intention of adult education. Today, with the basic popularization of higher education, these forms of education feel neither fish nor fowl, which not only interfere with the functions of key universities, but also fail to fulfill the real responsibilities of adult education. This situation can't continue. Third, the teachers' morality in colleges and universities has seriously declined, and the teaching level is not high. There are many jokes that belittle the professor, such as "Professor Cai" and "Dr. Shui". Some even joked that he was a professor by day and an animal by night. It is often seen that university teachers fall in love with students, and some teachers take students out to socialize and so on. Most professors have incomplete academic qualifications, narrow knowledge, lax scholarship and low humanistic quality, which has lost their charm to students. For example, in some schools, graduate tutors and students are brothers, and they are never strict with students. They don't even read their graduation thesis carefully. They often take female students out to socialize and fool the boss, and rarely attend classes. If something happens at school, they will ask graduate students to help them. Some professors have not taught their graduate students how to do research for three years, and only care about getting money outside. They have engaged in many horizontal projects, asking students to fiddle around, without paying attention to the improvement of students' scientific research ability, such as publishing high-quality papers. Fourth, college students' utilitarian consciousness is too strong, and they are unlearned. Nowadays, many undergraduates are not eager to learn their majors and blindly research. Some students bring in some bad social habits at school, how to form gangs and find relationships, especially in the election of student cadres and joining the party. They do this not to serve their classmates well, but to gain evaluation capital and lay a foundation for research, and once they fail to achieve their goals, they will no longer serve. Many graduate students never read books or write articles seriously. They either work part-time outside to make money or kill time. Some graduate students only take the exam, that is, they take the civil service exam after graduation, and continue to take the exam during the postgraduate period until graduation, and then they are admitted for three years. Some even don't study at all or publish high-quality articles, but they still have to take the doctoral exam. I think they may have to take the civil service exam for three to five years. How can such a graduate student contribute to the innovation of the country? Some small papers published at ordinary times are all distributed with pooled funds, or if you meet a good tutor to find some information and data for the tutor, you can hang your name, and it often takes several weeks to get the graduation thesis out. How can such a research attitude make innovative achievements? No wonder you see academic fraud and plagiarism constantly exposed on the Internet.
