Chongqing University (CQU), referred to as Chongqing University for short, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is jointly built by the Ministry of Education, Chongqing Municipality and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, ranking among the national "double-class" and "21/project".

5. Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, referred to as "cyit", is located in Chongqing, a municipality directly under the central government. It is a teaching and research university jointly established by the Ministry of People, Industry and Information Technology of China and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and has been selected as the national "Basic Capacity Building Project of Universities in the Midwest".
