Nantong Vocational College was founded in 1973, located in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, where rivers and seas meet and people are outstanding. It is a comprehensive full-time ordinary college approved by the people's government of Jiangsu Province and established by the Ministry of Education for the record. It is one of the vocational colleges with the longest running history in China and one of the few vocational colleges in China that integrates academic education, technical education and vocational training. The school is also the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units of the Ministry of Education, the director unit of the action plan working committee of the Ministry of Education to improve the management level of vocational colleges, the vice-president and secretary-general unit of the development strategy research working committee of China Vocational Education Association, and the president unit of Nantong Vocational and Technical Education Association.
School enrollment comes from Jiangsu, Shanxi, Shandong, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hebei, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Gansu and other provinces 14. It has two campuses, Chongchuan and Haimen, with mechanical engineering, electronic information engineering, pharmaceutical and environmental engineering, construction engineering, automobile and traffic engineering, art design, economic management and international.
The school has formed a professional pattern of "combining engineering, literature, management and art", with more than 50 majors. The school initiated eight concepts of "major and industry, curriculum and post, classroom and workshop, scientific research and production, internship and employment, training and job type, teacher and master, principal and factory director", and further promoted the integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation and social service, and trained 60,000 talents for the society every year.
School enrollment and entrepreneurship have always maintained a "vigorous development" trend with a large number of students and high quality. Over the years, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 98%, and the satisfaction of employers has reached above 93%. It has been rated as an advanced collective for the employment of college graduates in Jiangsu Province for eight times. In addition, the school attaches importance to foreign exchanges and cooperation, actively responds to the national "Belt and Road Initiative" and strives to improve the international education level.
