Dongda was born in 1877, which was formed by the merger and reorganization of "Tokyo Kaicheng School" and "Tokyo Medical College" during the Meiji Restoration. It is the first national comprehensive university in Japan and one of the earliest western universities in Asia. Some of its departments can be traced back to the period of Emperor Lingyuan as the influence of capitalist civilization.
