The predecessor of Zhejiang University School is Qiushi College, which was founded in 1897. It is one of the earliest new institutions of higher learning founded by China people themselves. 1928 was named National Zhejiang University. 1937 moved westward, running schools in Zunyi and Meitan, and 1946 moved back to Hangzhou in the autumn.
From 65438 to 0952, some departments of Zhejiang University were placed under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other universities, and the main part was reorganized into several universities in Hangzhou, which later developed into the original Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. 1998, four universities with the same roots merged to form the new Zhejiang University.
As of August, 2020, the school has eight campuses: Zijingang, Yuquan, Xixi, Huajiachi, Zhijiang, Zhoushan, Haining and Ningbo. There are 7 departments, 37 specialized colleges (departments), 1 engineering college, 2 Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run schools and 7 affiliated hospitals. Covers an area of 6223440 square meters.
The current school rules of Zhejiang University began to appear in the draft design scheme of Zhejiang University's school rules issued in199065438+February 15 (see Scheme I and Scheme II for details). By extensively soliciting the opinions of teachers, students, staff and alumni, we tend to plan a design draft of the school emblem with the traditional Qiushi Eagle as the main body, retaining the basic shape of Qiushi Eagle in the school emblem of Zhejiang University in the 1920s and 1930s, and reflecting the historical heritage.
