What is the nature of China University for the Aged?
The Open University for the Elderly is the first open university for the elderly in China. It is a new university for the elderly, which is supported by modern information technology and combines online and offline education to provide academic continuing education and non-academic continuing education for the elderly and pension service employees.

The Open University for the Elderly aims to provide all-round learning support and services for the elderly and promote the formation of a lifelong education system and a learning society. Accelerate the training of aged care service personnel, fill the talent gap in the aged care service market, and provide high-quality aged care service employees.

Since its establishment, the Open University for the Aged has conscientiously implemented the spirit of the Development Plan for the Aged (20 16-2020), adhered to the principles of socialization of school-running purposes and concepts, diversification of school-running systems and mechanisms, demand for teaching design and content, and advanced teaching methods and means, served a wide range of people with innovative models, and closely focused on system construction, education and training, information platform construction, resource construction and demonstration base construction.

Through the Ministry of Education, the Open University for the Elderly has submitted to the National Development and Reform Commission the Letter of the Ministry of Education on the Application for Approval of the Project Proposal of the National Elderly Health Art Experience Demonstration Center of the Open University for the Elderly. We also commissioned professional institutions to design and develop an "elderly education complex" that meets the needs of elderly education and integrates advanced concepts and technologies, and formulated replicable and scalable standards for elderly education products and services. We have also instructed three cooperative units to promote the construction of demonstration bases for elderly education with local characteristics.
