A few years ago, the strength of Lanzhou University was still relatively strong, but with the loss of teachers in Lanzhou University, Lanzhou University gradually fell behind, and the electrical engineering major of Lanzhou University of Technology was still popular and liked by many students, with strong professionalism. The merger of Lanzhou University of Technology and Lanzhou University is not conducive to the development of their respective schools, and will not merge in the short term.
First, the merger is not good.
As we all know, there are relatively few universities in Gansu, and Lanzhou University of Technology is also one of the key universities in Gansu. If Lanzhou University and Lanzhou University of Technology merge, many majors may be duplicated, which will reduce the number of students enrolled in Gansu. This is not good for the development of Gansu. For Lanzhou University, if it is merged with Lanzhou University of Technology, it may support some weaker majors and increase the expenditure of Lanzhou University.
Second, Lanzhou University
Lanzhou University belongs to the only 985 2 1 1 university in Gansu, and once ranked among the top universities in China. Lanzhou University has a long history, formerly known as Gansu Law and Politics School established in the late Qing Dynasty. Its key majors or disciplines are solid mechanics, ecology, botany, physical geography, organic chemistry, particle physics and nuclear physics.
Third, Lanzhou University of Technology.
Lanzhou University of Technology is outstanding in engineering. Although it is not a double first-class university, some of its majors are better than those of double first-class universities, and the machinery of Lanzhou University of Technology has developed strongly in recent years, so the possibility of merger of Lanzhou University is almost zero, and it is almost impossible for the two universities to merge in the future.
