(4) Understand the basic knowledge of related natural science and engineering technology;
(5) Strengthen the study and training of visual laws and design performance in printing, packaging, media communication and other fields.
Product design is an undergraduate major in colleges and universities, which belongs to design major. The basic study period is four years, and the bachelor of arts degree is awarded. In 20 12, the specialty of product design officially appeared in the catalogue of undergraduate majors in colleges and universities.
The major of product design cultivates talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, which can meet the needs of national modernization and international industrial product design professionals, and have a high sense of social responsibility, moral cultivation and good psychological quality, a strong sense of innovation, international vision and teamwork spirit.
Graduates should systematically master the basic theoretical knowledge and skills necessary for their major direction, and understand the new scientific and technological developments, literary trends, fashions and customs related to their major direction; Can be engaged in industrial product design, research, teaching, management and other aspects of work, but also can be engaged in industrial product-related packaging design, display design, publicity planning, market development and other aspects of work.
1998 product design specialty is not listed in the Catalogue of Undergraduate Specialty of Ordinary Colleges and Universities (version 1998). Later, some colleges and universities recruited students with majors outside the catalogue. For example, Yunnan Art College set up product design specialty in 2000, Shanghai Normal University set up product design specialty in 2002, and Zhengzhou Business School set up product design specialty in 2007.
