1952 In May, the majors of literature and history in Tongzhou Normal School, mathematics and physics in Yangzhou Middle School, art in Danyang Art School in southern Jiangsu and education in Subei Normal School were merged to form Subei Normal College.

From June 65438 to April 0959, Yangzhou Teachers College was merged into Subei Teachers College and upgraded to an undergraduate college, named Yangzhou Teachers College.
