Jinling Women's College was founded in 1987. Its predecessor was Jinling Women's University (referred to as Golden Girl for short), and 19 15 was well-known at home and abroad. It is the first undergraduate women's university in China. 19 13 was founded by the United Church of America, and 19 15 was formally established and enrolled students, renting Xiuhua Lane in the south of Nanjing as a temporary school building. 1923 moved to Suiyuan Campus, Ninghai Road, Nanjing. The first headmaster was Mrs. Debenham, an American missionary. 1928, the national government took back the right to education, with Xu Yiqian as the chairman and Wu Yifang as the principal. 1930, Golden Women's University was renamed Jinling Women's College of Arts and Sciences. Because of the Anti-Japanese War, teachers and students moved to Chengdu on 1937 and returned to Nanjing on 1946. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Jinling Women's College of Arts and Sciences and Jinling University merged into the public Jinling University 195 1. 1952 National faculty adjustment, Nanjing Normal University was established in the former site of Jinling Women's College of Arts and Sciences. 65438-0987 Approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Nanjing Normal University rebuilt Jinling Women's College.
