The School of Automotive Engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai) has four undergraduate majors: vehicle engineering, thermal energy and power engineering, transportation and traffic engineering. Vehicle engineering has master's programs and doctoral programs; Other majors can enjoy master's and doctor's degrees in general schools; The college consists of vehicle engineering department, thermal energy and power engineering department, transportation department and traffic engineering department; There are also research institutions such as Energy and Environment Research Institute (headed by Academician Qin Yukun), Automobile Engineering Research Institute, Traffic Engineering Research Institute, Shandong Automobile Parts Rapid Design and Manufacturing Engineering Technology Research Center, Weihai Judicial Appraisal Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology, and Rongcheng Huatai-Harbin Institute of Technology Technology Development Center. The college also has eight laboratories including vehicle engineering and two computer-aided design rooms. This major trains senior engineering and technical personnel engaged in automobile product design, manufacturing, testing and scientific research to meet the demand of vehicle engineering personnel for the rapid development of automobile industry. Vehicle engineering is one of the key disciplines of the school, which mainly studies the modern design and manufacturing technology of automobile parts and the key technologies of hybrid electric vehicles. This major takes automobile theory, automobile design and automobile testing technology as the core of teaching content, and trains students into outstanding talents with solid knowledge of automobile structure and theory, excellent automobile design ability and strong development and research ability. 1. internal combustion engine: research on performance optimization, design and test technology of internal combustion engine.

2. Energy and environmental engineering: study the efficient utilization of conventional energy, pollution control and new energy development.
