Professor Wu Shishu has systematically studied the nuclear theory, especially the nuclear multibody theory, and achieved fruitful results. Firstly, he applied the shell model theory to deal with muons and photonucleus effects, and obtained the research results called "Wu model" by academic colleagues.
Mr. Wu Shishu is a loyal son of China people and a close friend of China's * * * production party. Fifty-eight years ago, Dr. Wu Shishu returned to devastated New China with a high degree of patriotic enthusiasm, and devoted his life to the higher education and science in China.
Mr. Wu Shishu, a famous scientist, respected educator, senior academician of China Academy of Sciences, outstanding physicist, professor of Jilin University and one of the founders of physics, died in Changchun at 9: 48 on February 27th, 2009 at the age of 86.
In 1960s, he derived the high-order HRPA duration equation by Green's function method, and made Feynman graphic analysis. The "extended configuration mixing method" is also put forward, and the way to solve practical problems is given. This research achievement (1966) was well received by colleagues at home and abroad at the Beijing International Science Symposium. In 1970s, the theory of nonlinear integral equation of Green's function was put forward, and the application of nonlinear integral equation in Green's function theory and its physical significance were pointed out and demonstrated. In 198 1, an unsolved problem "about π condensation" can be solved by applying the theory of nonlinear integral equation put forward by Professor Wu Shishu. He was immediately invited to give lectures and work in the Federal Republic of Germany, and made a special introduction in German newspapers as a famous foreign scholar. At the same time, he also proposed the theory of nuclear meson freedom.
Daqing oilfield has encountered the problem that logging can not judge the flooded oil layer. 197 1 year, Professor Wu Shishu organized and led the research group to carry out research, and put forward a solution to determine the formation dielectric constant by measuring the phase difference of high-frequency electromagnetic waves, which provided a physical basis and design basis for the development of phase dielectric logging tools in Daqing Oilfield. In the mid-1970s, he personally participated in and organized the theoretical calculation of nuclear data evaluation of light nuclear neutron reaction, which made important contributions to the establishment and development of China's nuclear database. Participated in the formulation of the National Basic Science Development Plan (1978 ~ 1985), which laid the foundation for the follow-up development of basic science research in China. In recent years, Professor Wu Shishu has carried out the research on the degree of freedom of mesons in the nucleus and the renormalization of quantum hadron dynamics, and established a set of practical theories and calculation methods.
As one of the chairmen of the Organizing Committee, he organized three international academic conferences in Changchun attended by scholars from the United States, Canada, Britain, Germany and Japan, which promoted international academic exchanges and promoted the study of nuclear multi-body theory.
