The development of history
University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (formerly known as Chengdu Institute of Telecommunications Engineering) is one of the national key universities. Established in September 1956. It was established during the implementation of the first five-year plan of China's national economy, in order to meet the urgent needs of national economic construction and national defense construction for senior communication technology talents, under the personal care of Premier Zhou Enlai, and in accordance with the strategic deployment of the State Council's "transferring telecommunications engineering majors from South China University of Technology, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Jiaotong University and other schools to establish a radio engineering college in Chengdu". Since its establishment 40 years ago, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China has developed from an early single electronic discipline to an internationally renowned modern socialist university with electronic information science and technology as the core, industry as the main body, the combination of science and engineering, and the coordinated development of science and engineering management.
1955 On March 30th, the Party organization of the Ministry of Higher Education submitted the Report on the Task Handling Plan of 1955 Coastal City Colleges and Universities to Premier Zhou Enlai, which wrote: "From South China University of Technology, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Jiaotong University and other schools, the telecommunications engineering specialty was transferred to Chengdu to establish a radio engineering college." In May, the State Council agreed with the report of the Ministry of Higher Education and decided that the Ministry of Higher Education and the Second Ministry of Machinery Industry were jointly responsible for the establishment of Chengdu Radio Engineering College. 1955 On July 2 1-28, the preparatory meeting of Chengdu Institute of Radio Engineering was held in the conference room of Beijing Second Ministry of Machinery Industry. The meeting decided to set up the preparatory committee of Chengdu Institute of Radio Engineering and its subordinate three groups, namely, secretary, infrastructure and educational administration, to start work from now on. 1955 September19, the Ministry of Higher Education notified the Third University and its Preparatory Committee with documentNo. (55) JIAO Dian Zi 1730, which was officially approved by the State Council and named as "Chengdu Institute of Telecommunications Engineering" (hereinafter referred to as "Chengdian"). 1On February 4th, 956, the meeting of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee formally decided that the school site should be located in Baohe Township, east of Fuqing Road and west of Shahe in the northeast suburb of Chengdu.
