How about CET4?
There are two points to improve English in universities.

1. Turn English learning from exam-oriented to improving ability.

Any language learning needs four basic skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In English learning in junior and senior high schools, we spend a lot on "reading and writing" for exams, and seldom practice "listening and speaking", almost none. Even if you practice, it is only limited to listening, reading, writing and completing the blanks in the test paper ... and you can hardly feel it. The beauty of the English language itself cannot be said to be interested in learning English.

Therefore, to cultivate English learning ability, we must first pick up listening and speaking, read and write carefully, and the most urgent task is to improve our interest in English.

Compared with junior high school, we have more free time and can learn English in more ways and means. For example, watch American English dramas, learn English songs, and join various oral clubs. If you have the ability, you can find an original English book to appreciate the true beauty of English.

2. Find the "feeling" of English

Learning is not utilitarian. If "examination" is the ultimate goal, although it is easy to get something that looks like "score" on a test paper in a short time, it is easy to lose it after a long time and lose the ability to feel learning itself. Learning a language is not only about grammar and words, but more importantly, you can feel how a language with a completely different pronunciation from your mother tongue flows out of your lips, teeth and voice. How the rhythm, rhythm and intonation of this language change, and how its vocabulary and syntax change, we can feel the humanity, culture and viewpoint behind this language. Opening the window is like seeing people in a different world from you. They exist.

"Feeling" is an empty noun. However, it can also be discovered and realized bit by bit. For example, during college, you can take time to get up early to study. Don't stay with your head down, choose good articles and paragraphs such as classic speeches by celebrities, beautiful English essays, and loud emotional readings. But in the process of reading aloud, we must pay attention to the correction and cultivation of our own voice. Many people advocate that the function of language communication is more important than pronunciation and intonation, but in students' spare time, spend some time and energy to modify their "Chinese pronunciation" to make their pronunciation more standard.
