Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the earliest four Chinese medicine colleges approved by the State Council. Formerly known as Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it was founded in 1956 and renamed Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1995. National "Double First-class" Discipline Construction University.

After more than 60 years of development, the school has become a high-level university of traditional Chinese medicine with Chinese medicine as the main subject, medical and health-related disciplines supporting each other, coordinated development and distinctive characteristics. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, state administration of traditional chinese medicine and Sichuan Provincial People's Government, and a national "double-class" discipline construction university. We have continuously promoted international exchanges and cooperation, and established exchanges and cooperation relations with universities, medical institutions, scientific research institutions and academic groups in 50 countries and regions. Approved by the Ministry of Education, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Baode, Portugal) was established in Portugal, and Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Macau) International College was established in cooperation with Guangdong and Macao. It is the "China-ASEAN Education and Training Center" of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, the "International Science and Technology Cooperation Base" of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the "International Cooperation Base of Chinese Medicine (Education and Medical Treatment)" of state administration of traditional chinese medicine, and the "Human Reproductive Research Cooperation Center" of the World Health Organization.
