The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is the third university in Hong Kong and the first research university in Hong Kong. It was founded by the Hong Kong government in the 1960s and 1980s to meet the needs of economic transformation. 1986 In September, the Preparatory Committee of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was established. 1991June 10, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology held the opening ceremony. In June 2007, Fok Ying Tung Research Institute of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was established. In June 2022, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) was approved for establishment.
As of September, 2020, the school has four schools, namely, School of Science, School of Engineering, School of Business Administration, School of Humanities and Social Sciences and interdisciplinary course Affairs Office. The campus covers an area of more than 900 mu, with 699 teachers and all kinds of students 16 195, including undergraduates 10305 and postgraduates 5890.
