Brief introduction of Jiageng College of Xiamen University
Located in Zhangzhou Campus of Xiamen University, across the sea from Siming Campus of Xiamen University. Founded in 2003, the College is an independent college jointly sponsored by Xiamen University and Xiamen Jiageng Education Development Co., Ltd. with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It operates according to the new mechanism and mode. The Tan Kah Kee College of Xiamen University has enrolled students in the second batch since the day it was founded.
As of July 2023, the school campus covers an area of 2,726 mu, with 13 colleges, 1 independent departments, 2 teaching departments, 2 teaching centers, 1 practical teaching and training centers and 1 scientific research centers, 55 undergraduate majors and 83 professional directions. There are about18,000 undergraduates and 90 postgraduates (jointly trained with Xiamen University).
Second, the teaching staff.
As of September 2020, the college has more than 900 teaching and administrative staff, including 1 person, and 2 outstanding teachers in Fujian province.
Outstanding teacher of national education reform: Xiao Xiaonan.
Excellent teachers in Fujian Province: Chen Songping and Lu Chen.
Excellent Teaching Team in Fujian Province: An Introduction to Applied Linguistics Teaching Team (20 1 1 year).
Third, teaching construction.
As of July, 2022, the school has 9 provincial-level first-class majors, 27 provincial-level first-class courses, 2 provincial-level ideological and political demonstration courses, 64 school-level first-class courses, 79 school-level ideological and political demonstration courses, and 758 "teaching quality and teaching reform projects" (196 national-level courses and 562 provincial-level courses).
Fourth, cooperation and exchanges.
By July, 2023, the school has carried out inter-school exchanges and cooperation with many universities in Britain, Spain, Japan, the Netherlands, the United States and other countries, and also actively carried out interactive exchanges with high-level universities in Taiwan Province Province of China and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China. The school has established inter-school cooperation with 25 universities outside China.
