First of all, after the opening of the Yinxi high-speed railway, the opening time between the urban agglomeration along the Yellow River with Yinchuan as the center and the Guanzhong urban agglomeration with xi as the center will be shortened from the original 14 hour to 3 hours, which greatly facilitates the traffic of cities along the line and promotes the economic and social development of cities along the line to a certain extent. For example, Lingwu and Wuzhong in Ningxia will enter the era of high-speed rail. Wuzhong is also the core area of the urban agglomeration along the Yellow River, which governs two districts, one city and two counties. This area is also the key area of the western development strategy. The urban agglomeration along the Yellow River in Ningxia mainly includes Yinchuan, Shizuishan, Wuzhong, Zhongwei, Pingluo, Qingtongxia, Lingwu, Helan, Yongning and Zhongning 10 cities. It has concentrated 43% of the land area, 57% of the population, 80% of the towns and 90% of Ningxia. Therefore, the opening of Yinxi high-speed railway is of great strategic significance to the region.
Secondly, Yinchuan-Qingyang -Xi 'an high-speed railway is actually a part of Fuyin high-speed railway artery, which is also called Yin Fu high-speed railway. Together with Yin Fu Expressway, it has become a dual channel of freight and passenger transport from northwest to southeast, which is of great significance to the southeast coast and the northwest inland, and is conducive to the interconnection, complementary advantages and coordinated development of node cities, with the northwest entering the inland and the southeast reaching the coast. The artery connects Ningxia urban agglomeration along the Yellow River, Guanzhong urban agglomeration, middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration and Wuhan. It is expected that the whole line will be completed by the end of 2022.
Thirdly, the Yinxi high-speed railway is only the beginning of Yinchuan's construction of a transportation hub. With Yinchuan as the core hub, there will be Jinglan high-speed railway (Lanzhou-Yinchuan-Beijing high-speed railway), Yinxi high-speed railway (Yinchuan-Qingyang -Xi 'an high-speed railway), Yin Qing high-speed railway (Qingdao-Yinchuan high-speed railway) and Yuyin high-speed railway (Yinchuan-Chongqing high-speed railway). These railway plans will be of great significance for Yinchuan to establish an important transportation hub in the northwest. It is also a favorable guarantee for Yinchuan to strengthen its core position along the Yellow River Basin Group.
