Beijing Opera Art Vocational College, referred to as "North Opera" for short, is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Beijing Municipal People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It is the only independent art vocational college in Beijing.

As the cornerstone of Beijing Dance Academy, the foundation of training high-tech talents and the transformation base of socialized dancers, the High School Attached to Beijing Dance Academy has been a banner of dance education in secondary vocational schools in China for many years, and it has always been at the forefront of the same industry in terms of management level, teaching staff, teaching level, teaching achievements, academic research and graduate quality.

The predecessor of North Opera is Beijing Private Art Training Opera School, which was founded in 1952. June, 5438+February, 2002, Beijing Opera Art Vocational College was established, and full-time higher vocational education was formally held. In 2006, Beijing Institute of Art was merged into the college, which enriched the teaching and research strength of the college.

The school has strong teaching strength, advanced teaching concepts and profound dance culture accumulation, and has trained outstanding dance performance artists, choreographers, educators and theorists such as Li, Lu Yisheng, Chen, Tang Shiyi and Hua Xiaoyi, as well as performing stars such as Li, Zhang Ziyi and so on who are active on the screen. The school enjoys the reputation of "the cradle of dancers" and has made outstanding contributions to the development of new China dance.
