I am not an ecology major in East China Normal University, but I can give you some humble opinions. I don't understand why you want to take the ecology exam. If you can finish your Ph.D. directly, it is also possible. If you only plan to study for a master's degree, you'd better change to a major with a better future. This ecology major is recognized as a major with poor employment rate.
