Donghua University, located in the international metropolis of Shanghai, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, as well as the national "21/project" and "excellent engineer education and training plan". It is one of the first universities in China that have the right to award doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees.

The school was founded in 195 1 East China Institute of Textile Technology, renamed China Textile University in 1985 and Donghua University in 1999.

As of April 20 14, the school * * * has three campuses, located in Songjiang District and Changning District, Shanghai, covering an area of nearly 2,000 mu, and the campus environment is pleasant, so it is a "garden unit in Shanghai". The school has 5 postdoctoral mobile stations, 7 first-class doctoral programs, 24 first-class master programs, 6 professional master's degree authorized categories, 17 engineering master's authorized fields and 56 undergraduate majors. There are more than 30,000 students, including nearly 1.5 million undergraduates, more than 6,000 graduate students and more than 4,000 international students.
