The Central Conservatory of Music, referred to as "Central Music", is located in the capital Beijing. It is an institution of higher learning directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), the only national key university and "2 1 1 engineering" construction institution among national art institutions, and the first batch of "double-class" world-class discipline construction institutions in China.

3. Shanghai Conservatory of Music

Shanghai Conservatory of Music, referred to as Shangyin for short, is a full-time professional music (art) college sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and approved by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It is a member of the European Union of Conservatory of Music and the Pacific Rim Conservatory of Music, and a national "double-class" world-class discipline construction university.

4. Sichuan Conservatory of Music

Sichuan Conservatory of Music, called "Chuanyin" for short, is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is a provincial full-time ordinary undergraduate college with "music" as its main feature. It is one of the nine independent professional music colleges in China, with the right to award master's degrees, and the first batch of MFA professional degree awarding units approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee.

5. Wuhan Conservatory of Music

Wuhan Conservatory of Music, located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, is one of the nine independent conservatories in China, the only independent higher music institution in Central China, a master's degree awarding unit, and the first batch of MFA professional degree education pilot units in China.
