In September, 20021,the Ministry of Education issued "Guiding Opinions on Further Strengthening and Improving the Enrollment of Art Majors in Colleges and Universities" (hereinafter referred to as "Guiding Opinions"), pointing out that from 2024, high-level art troupes in colleges and universities will no longer be selected from the enrollment process of colleges and universities, but will be selected and cultivated by relevant colleges and universities from students.

According to the document published by the Ministry of Education, by 2024, colleges and universities will completely stop selecting students from ordinary high schools, and instead select and train students from within schools. In other words, after 2024, art specialty students can only be born after taking the college entrance examination and entering the school to train art specialty students through selection. Then the selection of artistic expertise will not be cancelled in 2022-2023 as a transitional period.

Among the pilot universities approved by the Ministry of Education, including Dalian University of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xiamen University, South China University of Technology, Sichuan University, Shandong University, China Ocean University and many other key universities, the enrollment of high-level art groups has long been suspended; China Agricultural University, China University of Political Science and Law, Sun Yat-sen University and other universities also announced on 20021to suspend the enrollment of high-level art groups.

Take Tsinghua University, which announced the enrollment brochure for high-level art troupes in 2022, as an example: Tsinghua University plans to enroll no more than 40 students in 2022, 8 fewer than the 48 students in 20021. Compared with 2020, 202 1 plans to recruit fewer people 12 people. Reduce the number of enrollment plans for two consecutive years.
