Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology is located in Benxi City, Liaoning Province. Its predecessor is Benxi Metallurgy College, which is a junior college. After merging with Benxi University, it was renamed Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology. The school is in a backward position in public undergraduate schools, mainly metallurgy, and will not be renamed in the short term.
