Familiar with the line, principles, policies and relevant laws and regulations of China's public security work, systematically master the basic theory, knowledge and skills of investigation specialty, and be able to engage in investigation, criminal law enforcement, crime prevention and control, investigation teaching and other work in public security, procuratorial and national security departments.

Professional training requirements: students in this major mainly study the basic theory and knowledge of investigation, receive basic training in criminal law enforcement and investigation and solving cases, master the theory and technology of investigation, and have practical working ability and innovative ability to analyze and solve problems.

Main courses: basic theory of public security, criminology, public security management, general theory of public security, criminal law, criminal procedure law, administrative procedure law, capturing the enemy for self-defense, shooting, investigation principle, criminal investigation, political security, economic crime countermeasures, material evidence technology, forensic medicine, investigation and interrogation, on-site investigation, etc.

Main practical teaching links: including probation and internship. Students practice in public security organs for 6 weeks, and graduate practice 10 week.
