What are the allusions in There is Light Ahead?
The first story, we and Zhong Yan.

When our generation was in primary and secondary schools, it was during the Cultural Revolution, when universities were closed, there was no college entrance examination and no senior high school entrance examination, and the school cancelled the key points. All the students are registered in the nearest school. My family lived in Qiaoergou and was assigned to Yaodian Middle School. Although it is impossible to go to college, it is the same to go to any school, but my parents still feel that going to school will be delayed. Fortunately, my parents are both engaged in education. My father, Zhao Sen, is the vice president of Yan 'an prefectural school. My mother Meng worked as a teacher in many schools. They looked for someone everywhere and managed to send me to Zhong Yan. Although it is in Zhong Yan, there is no bus from Qiaoergou to downtown, and it takes more than 20 miles. I couldn't ride a bike then. My mother took me to Dongguan every day, rain or shine. When I was sixteen or seventeen, she took me by bike, then put me down and I walked to Zhong Yan. Sometimes, because I have to go to work and have no time to see me off, my mother begged passing cars, tractors and even ox carts to send me to school in the city. Sometimes I can't find a car, so I walk to school in the city. Later, I learned to ride a bike, but my mother didn't trust me. One night I came home late, and I collided with my mother who came to pick me up by bike in Dongguan, knocking me and my mother to the ground and unable to get up for a long time. My brother was also assigned to Wang Jiaping primary school, but my parents also managed to send him to Zhong Yan school. In Yan 'an area, every student wants to go to middle school. Even if there are more difficulties, they should try their best to overcome them.

In this story, I want to say that Yan 'an Middle School is the best middle school in Yan 'an people's mind at any time.

The second story, Zhong Yan and us.

When we extended the school, it was an educational revolution, and the six-year school system in middle school was compressed to four years. We were the first in the transition period, so we studied in a daze for half a year. At that time, the so-called schools mainly studied workers, peasants and the army, and also received education in class struggle. But we are lucky to catch up with the so-called "right-wing resurgence" in 1972. Teacher Zhong Yan guided the situation and grasped the quality of education in an all-round way. In order to make up for the "left" content in the textbook, teachers have compiled their own Chinese textbooks. Up to now, many of our classmates can recite The Story of Yueyang Tower by heart, saying, "Worry about the world first, and enjoy it later." If you follow the official textbooks at that time, it is impossible to learn these contents. At that time, Zhong Yan also held a math contest, which cultivated our keen interest in mathematics. Our teachers are all the best, such as Du, Gao,,, Li Zhengzu, Ruan Zhifeng, Chang,,, Zou Zhenji and so on. There are many teachers who haven't given us lessons, and they are all veteran college students before the Cultural Revolution. They are well-educated, extremely responsible and try their best to make us accept them. We also remember the unforgettable time we spent on the farm next to Wang Le, Zhong Yan. 1977, worked as a worker in Ankang railway sub-bureau. I hardly have any review materials, but I was admitted to the university, relying on the foundation laid by Zhong Yan. This is of course my luck. It is worth mentioning that all four of our brothers and sisters graduated from Zhong Yan Middle School. 1978 Our three brothers went to college at the same time. My brother Zhao Yu 'an didn't graduate from high school. He was admitted to the university as a student, and today he was admitted to Huazhong University of Science and Technology with high marks. My brother Zhao is a student in Grade Six and Grade Eight. I only attended junior high school for one year. I was admitted to Northwest Institute of Light Industry in 1977, and later admitted to graduate school. His review materials for the college entrance examination are my high school math and physics class notes. I was admitted to the university with my class notes, which shows the education level of Zhong Yan at that time. Although my sister Zhao Xiaowen is many years younger than us, she was admitted to an admitted university. The fact that our brother and sister were admitted to the university was also a minor celebrity in Yan' an at that time, and Yan' an Daily also published a special report.

I stand here to speak, of course, not only on behalf of our four brothers and sisters, but on behalf of all the students of our time, and also because of the praise from my classmates and my alma mater. The road of life sometimes depends on opportunity and luck. Although many of our classmates didn't go to college, they were much better than me. There are three students in Class 1, Grade 7, Grade 3. Before graduating from high school, they were sent directly to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to work with Chairman Mao, which caused a sensation throughout Yan 'an. Many students in our class joined the party when they jumped the queue, and were promoted to be soldiers. Many of them became party and league branch secretaries and production captains. Many students have made outstanding contributions to society after taking up their jobs. For example, Li Ban, who has been enthusiastic about social welfare undertakings all her life, has funded more than 5,300 poor female college students with the "Hongfeng" project and even attended CCTV. Another example is Zhang Huamin, an expert in information technology education. However, in his spare time, he studied the military history of the northwest party history and published the book Biography of Xie Zichang, which was widely praised. Compared with my classmates, I am just lucky. In 2004, recommended by Wang Kuan, Yan 'an TV's "I am from Yan 'an" program found Hainan and wanted to do an exclusive interview for me. I have self-knowledge, so I politely declined.

In this story, I want to say that no matter what we do in the future, no matter what kind of life situation we have, we are the best in this society, because our alma mater Yan 'an Middle School is the best.

The third story is about us and Yanan.

After leaving Zhong Yan, we learned from workers, peasants, soldiers and businessmen in all directions and did everything. However, Zhong Yan and Yan 'an deeply influenced us and changed us. In our time, not all students have the opportunity to enter the university. Most people started from the bottom of society, relying on the Yan 'an spirit of self-reliance and hard struggle, and struggled for a lifetime to change middle school education, but they all made outstanding contributions to society. Let's say we are in Class One, Grade Seven. Zhang Xinchun's formal education in this life is only a diploma of Zhong Yan, but he persevered and taught himself, and later became the deputy secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Zhengzhou Railway Bureau. Zhang Jianshe also received the same education, and finally served as the deputy mine manager of Qilicun Oil Mine in Yan 'an. Xue, a classmate who didn't graduate from high school, stayed at school as a doorman and really dedicated his life. In Zhong Yan, we all call him the night watchman. And my classmate Gao Fei, who lived in a shed with me when I was in Ankang Railway Branch, insisted on writing and contributed articles everywhere. He just graduated from a middle school and became a famous writer. There are too many such students. Unfortunately, I have been working in other provinces for a long time, and I know very little about the students in foreign teachers' classes. The red land in Yan 'an nurtured us, and the teachers in Yan 'an Middle School cultivated us. We met Deng Xiaoping in primary school and Zhou Enlai in middle school. We grew up in Wang Jiaping, Zaoyuan and Yang Jialing, where Chairman Mao and the CPC Central Committee lived and worked, and we know a lot about them. We inherited the red gene, and the blood of people from northern Shaanxi runs through our bodies. No matter where you go, you can't forget your Yan 'an identity. Everyone is consciously or unconsciously the inheritor of Yan 'an spirit.

When I was secretary of the Party Committee of Hainan University, the school was still in its infancy, but I never forgot my true colors as a Yan 'an person. With the joint efforts of the whole province, Hainan University finally entered "2 1 1". At that time, it was in the period of great development of higher education, with many infrastructure projects and heavy procurement tasks, but I always reminded myself that I was from Yan 'an and northern Shaanxi. Although I have held important positions in several units and the social atmosphere at that time was unhealthy, I can proudly say that I have never received a penny from others. I have done academic research and compared Yan 'an spirit with Qiongya revolutionary spirit, because I can't forget Yan 'an, which gave birth to me and raised me. I've had some lows in my life. In my most difficult time, despite misunderstandings, I was open-minded and believed in my innocence and selflessness. I wrote my feelings at that time into the postscript of my book "Comparative Study on Marxist Theory Education at Home and Abroad": "I am grateful to northern Shaanxi all my life. Northern Shaanxi raised me and taught me how to face life directly. The caves in Yan 'an not only taught me Marxism-Leninism, but also taught me the realm of being a man and the style of doing things. No matter when you are full of ambition or when you compromise, as long as you are immersed in academic research, you will forget everything and tolerate everything. Because my roots are in caves in northern Shaanxi. "

In this story, I want to say that we are from Yan 'an and Zhong Yan. Without Zhong Yan and Yan 'an, there would be no us now. We will always be the inheritors of Yan 'an spirit.

I tell these three stories to illustrate my understanding that light is the first. Every middle school student in Zhong Yan knows that "the light is ahead" is Chairman Mao's inscription for middle school students and Zhong Yan's school motto. But how far is this "front" from us? Before entering middle school, our goal is to extend middle school, thinking that it is only in middle school. You have to go to middle school if you want to go to school! We didn't know until we went to Zhong Yan that Zhong Yan only created a better environment and conditions for us to pursue a better future. All the teachers and staff of our alma mater do is let us look for the light with black eyes. When we enter the society, we know that the "front" of light is in our hearts. As long as there is light in our hearts, we will see a bright future. This is just like Zhu Ziqing's last two sentences in his poem "Light": "If you want light, make it yourself!"

Now, we have entered retirement age, and we have spent more than half of our lives. However, we are worthy of life, because each of us Zhongyan people used our lives to practice the words engraved on the surface of the farm kiln beside Wang Le: "Glory belongs to the workers"! No matter how far we go, no matter where we go, we are all Zhongyan people in our bones, all Shanbei people and all laborers!

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my highest respect and sincere thanks to the teachers of our alma mater, Zhong Yan. They have worked hard to cultivate us, which deserves our eternal respect, and express their respect and thanks to the dear students who are looking forward to graduating next year! I wish our alma mater, Zhong Yan, a prosperous and bright future!
