Minzu University of China (hereinafter referred to as "Minzu University of China") is located in Zhongguancun South Street, Haidian District, Beijing, adjacent to the National Library of China in the south and Zhongguancun Science Park in the north. It is a comprehensive national key university jointly established by the people of China, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of China, the people of Beijing and China, and the Ministry of Education.

It ranks among the national "double first-class" A-class universities, the national "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project" universities, and has been selected into the National Excellent Legal Education Training Program for Limb Infiltration Talents, the Demonstration Base for Studying in China of the Ministry of Education, the National High-level University Postgraduate Program and the China Municipal Government Scholarship Receiving Institution for Foreign Students.

The predecessor of Minzu University of China is the Institute for Nationalities founded by China Producers' Party in Yan 'an in September 194 1. 1951June, the Central University for Nationalities was formally established in Beijing, with Ulanhu as the first president. 1978 was approved as a national key university.

1993165438+1October, renamed Central University for Nationalities. 1999 became the national key construction university of "21/project" and became the national key construction university of "985 project" in 2004.

As of June 2023, the school has two campuses, Haidian and Fengtai, covering an area of 380,000 square meters, with a campus construction area of 592,000 square meters and a teaching and administrative room of more than 200,000 square meters.
