Guangdong Pharmaceutical University (GDPU), located in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, is one of the three major pharmaceutical universities in China and the earliest institution of higher learning in South China to offer a series of pharmacy majors. The school is the leading unit of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Pharmaceutical Industry Collaborative Innovation Alliance and China Integrated Pharmacy Alliance, and a member unit of the Sino-Russian Medical University Alliance.
The history of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University can be traced back to Guangdong Health Cadre College founded by 1958. 1978, upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college, named Guangdong Medical College; 1994 was renamed as Guangdong Pharmaceutical University; 20 16 was officially renamed Guangdong Pharmaceutical University with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
