Hunan University of Finance and Economics, located in Changsha, Hunan Province, is a full-time undergraduate college sponsored by Hunan Provincial People's Government, headed by Hunan Provincial Department of Education and assisted by Hunan Provincial Department of Finance.

Hunan University of Finance and Economics is located in Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area of Changsha City, covering an area of 760.35 mu, adjacent to Changsha West Lake Cultural Park and Meixi Lake International New City, and is a "garden-style unit in Hunan Province".

The original name of the school was 1933 "Private Health Accounting Workshop", and it was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education on March 20 10, and was officially named Hunan University of Finance and Economics. It is a provincial application-oriented undergraduate financial college with management and economy as the main body and coordinated development of management, economy, engineering, literature, law and education.
